Mukesh Ambani donates ₹2.51 crore to the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.

In a significant display of philanthropy, Mukesh Ambani, the Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), along with his family, made a generous donation of Rs 2.51 crore to the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The announcement came following the Ambani family’s visit to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, coinciding with the momentous occasion of Ram Temple’s consecration.

The family, comprising Mukesh Ambani, his wife Neeta Ambani, sons Akash and Anant, daughters Isha and soon-to-be daughter-in-law Radhika Merchant, son-in-law Anand Piramal, and Akash’s wife Shloka Mehta, participated in the ritual ceremony held in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Lord Ram is arriving today, January 22nd will be Ram Diwali for the entire country,” Mukesh Ambani expressed ahead of the temple visit. His son Akash, who chairs Reliance Jio, added, “This day will be written in the pages of history, and we are happy to be here.”

This isn’t the first time Mukesh Ambani has demonstrated his commitment to philanthropy, particularly towards religious causes. Notably, in October last year, he contributed a substantial sum of Rs 5 crore to the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee. In February 2023, Mukesh Ambani and Akash visited the Somnath temple in Gujarat, where they donated Rs 1.51 crore to its trust.

On the occasion of the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Mukesh Ambani’s residence, ‘Antilia,’ was adorned with illuminated diyas and ‘Jai Shri Ram’ holograms, creating an atmosphere of celebration and anticipation for the consecration ceremony.

This act of philanthropy is in line with Mukesh Ambani’s ongoing support for various temples across India. During his visit to Badrinath and Kedarnath Temples in October 2023, he donated Rs 2.5 lakh to each temple committee. In September 2023, the industrialist contributed Rs 1.51 crore as an offering for annadanm (food for devotees) during his prayers at Kerala’s Guruvayur Temple. Additionally, he donated the same amount to the Somnath Temple Trust during his visit to the temple with son Akash in March 2023.
